Marla is music teacher from Fergus Falls and lost her 11-year-old daughter in a tragic car accident in October. Claire and four of her siblings were leaving a bible camp to go to church when her sibling lost control of the car. Four of the other children were all injured and Claire suffered a brain injury and past away a few days later.

Matt Wimmer and his two songs, 14 & 10, will be spending this holiday season mourning the loss of their wife/mother. Jodi Wimmer was at a hockey game in Brainerd on November 11th when she suffered a brain aneurysm and passed away on November 15th. Jodi was only 39 years old.

Abby, 7, and Cullen, 3, both developed a rare skin disorder in November. The disorder is called Scalded Skin Syndrome and is a form of a staph infection. It results in 2nd-degree burns. Abby ended up having burns over 60% of her body and Cullen had burns over 25% of his body. The Cullen's live in Moorhead and had to bring both kids to the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis for treatment. Because of this, they incurred travel expenses and out-of-network insurance fees.

In September of this year, Ken Schaffer went out for a run. When he came home he told his wife he wasn't feeling well. Within minutes he was in cardiac arrest and he passed away. Ken left behind his wife and two daughters, 19 and 16. This will be their first Christmas without a husband and father.

Brayden is an 11-month-old baby with an un-diagnosed breathing problems. He's been hospitalized 28 nights during his short life for recurrent central apneas and airway obstructions. Brayden's parents, Jason and Laurie, don't sleep at night because Brayden is on a monitor and when he stops breathing an alarm will sound. The alarm goes off several times a night. Not only are Jason and Laurie losing sleep every night, they're also losing hours at work because of doctors visits. The bills are piling up and doctors still don't have a diagnosis or treatment plan.

Henry has always been a very kind and generous person. He has opened his home to many extended visitors over the years, delivered meals to elderly neighbors, and has played Santa every year for his kids, grandkids, and neighbor kids. Henry will be spending this holiday season fighting for his life. He was recently diagnosed with a rare and often fatal cancerous brain tumor called Pontine Glioma. Doctors have given Henry less than a year to live. Henry and his wife are going through a very difficult time right now and could use some Christmas cheer.

Jonathon is a sophomore at Fargo South and at the end of October he went to his doctor for back pain. His doctor initially thought it was a hernia but it turned out to be Hodgkin's Lymphoma stage 3B. Jonathon started chemotherapy in November and is currently undergoing treatment. Jonathon loves to play football, basketball, hunt and fish but all of that has obviously been put on hold while he receives treatment.

Amy and Jeremy moved to Fargo in October in hopes of finding work and affordable housing. They fell on hard times and were evicted from their apartment in the Minneapolis area and are looking for a fresh start in Fargo. Amy and the three kids are currently staying at the YWCA shelter and Jeremy is spending nights in his car. He visits his wife and children as often as he can but can't legally spend nights with them at the shelter. Amy and Jeremy have quickly found work in the FM area and doing all they can to get back on their feet but could use a little help.

Lori and Jeremiah Moen are both teachers who have two young daughters. In August, they added a baby boy (Rowden) to their family. At his 2-month check-up, doctors noticed that his soft spot was closing faster than normal and found out that Rowden had bicorporal fusion. This means the bones of his skull have started to fuse together earlier than usual. To correct this issue, Rowden will need to travel to the Children's Hospital in the Cities to have corrective surgery when he's 6 months old. If he doesn't have the surgery, his brain will not be allowed to grow any larger. The family is already on a tight budget and the upcoming trips to the Cities, plus medical costs, will stretch them even further.

Kim is a mother of three. In September of 2012 she was diagnosed with lung cancer and a few days later had one of her lungs removed. She has been approved for an experimental drug that costs $2,000 a month. Insurance will cover part, but not all of it. Because of her medical problems, Kim has been out of work since September and the family is relying on her husband's salary to make ends meet.

Christmas Wish for Michael and Isabelle

Isabelle is a 5 year old little girl who lost her mom in a car accident in late September. Michael was engaged to marry Isabelle's mom. Michael isn't Isabelle's biological father but took over the role of main parent for Isabelle without hesitation after this tragedy. Ashley, Isabelle's kindergarten teacher, nominated the family for this Christmas Wish.

Kristin is a 20-year-old who recently found out she had a cancerous lump in her throat. Because of it's location, doctors had to remove her voice box to make sure they removed all of the tumor. Kristin now communicates with family and friends by writing on a white board that she keeps with her. Kristin will eventually be fitted with a prosthetic voice box once she recovers from the initial surgery.

"Stacy" sought shelter at the YWCA of Cass-Clay earlier this year to escape domestic violence. She took her four kids with her and knew it was something she had to do. Stacy has continued to work while at the shelter, he kids have continued to go to school, and the family has now saved enough money to secure housing. Stacy and her kids are literally starting from scratch. They have housing, but they don't have anything to put in the house, the kids need new clothes, and money is going to be tight. Stacy knows that getting her kids into a place they can call home is a crucial step in helping them move on and resume a normal life again.

AJ is a high school student from Pelican Rapids. Shortly after his 16th birthday his knee started hurting. Trainers thought he had torn a ligament during baseball but after a more routine physical, they found that he had Sarcoma (bone cancer). Because the cancer is touching his knee, doctors must amputate his leg. AJ is scheduled to have surgery on December 27th. His family is hoping to give him one last special Christmas before this life-altering surgery!

Colton was nominated by his physcal therapist. Colton has muscular dystrophy. He's in 3rd grade and he has lost the ability to walk without assistance. His mom and twin brother go with him to physical therapy to keep his spirits up. His mom tries to work, but finds it hard to keep decent employment because she needs to take care of Colton outside of school and has to take days off when he has treatments or doctor visits. As his dystrophy continues, the medical bills for treatments and equipment will only get larger and harder to pay.

Jami Nylander and her family have been dealing with Jami's medical problems for the past two years. Jami has been plagued with persistent and chronic gastrointestinal problems that have resulted in constant pain, fevers and infections, stomach surgeries, feeding tubes, ER visits, and hospital stays. Jami and her husband Andrew have three small children. Jami has been unable to work, meaning that Andrew has to be the main provider for the family on top of being Jami's "nurse".

Less than a month after his surgery, Drew found out his cancer had spread to his liver. Drew recently had a second surgery and is going through his second round of chemotherapy. On top of everything, Drew continues to work as much as he can because his wife is a stay-at-home mom who home-schools and cares for their large family.

Diane was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January. She was immediately taken to Rochester for surgery. She has since been through radiation and is currently going in for chemotherapy treatments. She has lost all of her hair, but not her spirit! Diane had been working as a cook at the Leach Home in Wahpeton but had to let go of her job to recover. Diane's former boss nominated her for a Christmas Wish to help pay for some of the medical bills that continue to pile up. Diane does have insurance, but that is all being paid out-of-pocket.
